Appel à projets Lisbonne

Deadline : 1er mai 2016

The International Initiative for the Promotion of Political Economy (IIPPE) is inviting submissions of
film and video art projects to be presented at its 7th Conference.
IIPPE is one of the largest international networks of heterodox political economists. Part of IIPPE’s
mission is to develop links between critical academics, artists, film makers and activists working for a
more just and equal world.
In parallel with its regular academic activities, the 2016 IIPPE conference will feature a screening and
discussion programme. Thematic areas could include (but are not limited to): the global economic
crisis, the working class, poverty, migration, gender, development, environment, privatisation,
banking and financial fraud, refugees, the rise of the extreme right, armed conflicts, and
neocolonialism.
Documentary filmmakers and video artists are invited to submit work of around 30 - 90 minutes
duration, which can be screened and followed by a discussion. Given the likely composition of the
audience, films in other languages must be subtitled in English. Work will be screened as a digital
video file.
The IIPPE conference provides a unique opportunity for networking. Activities beyond the
conference itself include a dinner and an optional 3-day social programme where participants will be
introduced to the political and economic history of Portugal through visit to historical places in and
around Lisbon. The themes of the social programme include: Portuguese Imperialism, Revolutionary
Change, and the Contemporary Economic Crisis and Social Movements.
IIPPE is independent of any academic institution and its activities are funded by the conference fees.
However, fees will be waived for film makers presenting their work, but please understand that
travel and accommodation costs cannot be supported by IIPPE.
To submit your work for consideration, please fill in the electronic application forms. Under the
section "Tick the Working Group pertinent to your Proposal" select "Committee on Activism". After
you have done this, please contact the Matthias Kispert (info@matthiaskispert.com) and Niels Hahn
(nsc.hahn@gmail.com), with a note about your submission and brief description of your project.
The submission deadline for these proposals is 1st of May 2016 - one month after the deadline for
the submission of academic papers. Submissions must be done via this website to IIPPE.
